Vivek Warrier is a partner in the Corporate and Energy Practice Group at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt, a leading national law firm operating in every major market in Canada. Vivek’s practice focuses on all aspects of the energy value chain, from extraction or generation, transportation, and transmission to the marketing of energy products to end users. His practice focuses on private M&A transactions in the energy space, and the structuring, ownership and operation of energy infrastructure projects.

He has represented clients on several transformative projects, including the development of liquefied natural gas export facilities, equity participation transactions between energy industry project proponents and First Nations, renewable energy partnerships, carbon sequestration projects and the development of linear infrastructure projects throughout Canada.

Vivek is past president of the Canadian Energy Law Foundation, serves on the Speakers Committee for the PETRONAS International Energy Speakers Series and has taught Oil and Gas Contracts at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law. Vivek is extensively involved in the Calgary community, including as Vice-Chair of the board and former Campaign Co-Chair of the United Way of Calgary and as a past chair of the Board of Directors of the Centre for Newcomers.

Vivek was recently appointed as King’s Counsel in the Province of Alberta and he is recognized as a preeminent lawyer in Energy by many publications, including Chambers Canada, Legal 500, The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and many more, and is ranked as a “Global Elite Thought Leader” in the energy space by Lexology.
