Chelsea Hazewinkel, KC is Chief Legal Officer and Chief Privacy Officer for the Paladin Group of Companies, directing legal strategy, regulatory compliance, and risk governance.

Over the past five years, Chelsea has supported Paladin’s 300%+ growth to over 30,000 employees spanning 43 states, nine provinces, and two territories including into new verticals, jurisdictions, and product lines.

After building a foundation in private practice and teaching Business Law at the University of Alberta, Chelsea transitioned in-house. Her career took her to Vancouver, Edmonton, and now Calgary. She enjoyed a full seven-year term, including as President, with the Association of Corporate Counsel (“ACC”) Alberta and has mentored high-potential ventures through Alberta’s pre-eminent startup incubators for eight years. She served as Board Director for many not-for-profit organizations and industry associations over the past twenty-five years, currently the Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF).

With a strategic focus, stoic execution, and dynamic presence, Chelsea brings measured gravitas and humour to pursuits.

Chelsea most enjoys time with her family: travelling, in the mountains and participating in sport, as player or coach. While managing enterprise-scale legal operations across North America requires considerable skill, she maintains nothing compares to the relentless grit required to parent three independently-minded adolescents.
