Alexis Cloutier joined The North West Company in 2024 as Vice President, Legal, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, bringing with her extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, public company governance, and corporate/commercial law. The North West Company is a publicly traded company that, through its subsidiaries, is a leading retailer serving remote, rural and northern communities across Canada, Alaska, the Caribbean and the South Pacific. Alexis leads North West’s global legal, governance and corporate secretary functions.

Prior to joining North West, Alexis spent 10 years in progressively senior legal roles at BCE/Bell Canada, most recently as Assistant General Counsel and Deputy Corporate Secretary. Earlier in her career, she practiced at McMillan LLP in Vancouver as a capital markets lawyer, with a focus on securities and mergers & acquisitions. Alexis holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from The University of Winnipeg.
